Spink Comhaltas – 1983 to 2023

Spink Comhaltas was founded on 22 November 1983.  2023 marks the 40th year of Spink Comhaltas promoting traditional Irish music, dance and culture in Laois and further afield.  As part of commemorating this significant milestone, Spink Comhaltas have published a history of the branch.  It is available for € 10.  Contact the branch for more details.

Our Music Classes

We teach music in small groups to encourage the social aspect of playing together, and musicians are streamed with other musicians of similar ability.

Instrument Bank

We maintain an instrument bank – primarily for our junior musicians – to allow musicians to learn to play a new instrument at a cost-effective price until they are ready to invest in their own instrument.
